The word “pub”
originates from the term 'public house' which references a community
gathering place or focal point within the community for socialising
and sharing stories, daily events, and in our case, great food with
a great beverage.
We pride ourselves
on our hospitality, efficient service and delicious homemade food, which
is served up in a relaxed friendly atmosphere, making the Brass Monkey
a true home from home. The idea is to create a true and authentic 'public
house' environment, bringing the 'Craic' of the Irish to the Brass Monkey.
After being taken
over recently by new management, the bar and restaurant has recently
been refurbished to impeccable standards, although it has not lost any
of its old characteristis, such as our spiral staircase, stone floors
and old chemist's counter for a bar. it is truely a beautiful building
with small nooks for intimate meetings, larger open floor areas for
a great night's craic with a group of friends.
Besides a wide variety
of wines, liquors and spirits, there is a large selection of draught
and bottled beers, consisting of dark ales, sparkling lagers and rich
stouts, including, of course, Guinness. The fare is composed of Irish
and international specialties with burgers, sandwiches, hearty pastas,
fresh seafood, tender steaks and other great favorites.
After dark, The
Brass Monkey has nightly entertainment. There is a perfect mix of live
music, karaoke and Quiz's. Here at The Brass Monkey there is sure to
be something for everyone.
